Waste Collection Knightsbridge Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Waste Collection Knightsbridge provides waste collection and related services to residential and commercial customers. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing any booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

Customer means the individual, business, organisation or other entity that requests or receives waste collection services from Waste Collection Knightsbridge.

Services means any waste collection, removal, recycling, bulky item clearance, or related services provided by Waste Collection Knightsbridge.

Agreement means the contract between Waste Collection Knightsbridge and the Customer comprising these Terms and Conditions and any written or electronic confirmation of a booking.

Waste means any items, materials, rubbish, refuse, or goods to be collected and removed by Waste Collection Knightsbridge under the Services, excluding any prohibited or hazardous items as described in these Terms and Conditions and applicable regulations.

2. Scope of Services

Waste Collection Knightsbridge offers scheduled and one-off waste collection and removal services for domestic and commercial customers within our operational area. The exact scope of the Services, including the type and volume of waste, collection location, date, and time window, will be agreed at the time of booking and confirmed in the booking confirmation.

The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the description of the Waste provided at the time of booking is accurate and complete, including any bulky items, approximate volumes, and any special access requirements at the collection address.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Booking request

Bookings may be made by telephone, email, or through any other booking method we may make available from time to time. When making a booking request, the Customer must provide accurate details including full name or business name, contact details, collection address, access information, type and quantity of Waste, and the preferred collection date and time window.

3.2 Confirmation

An Agreement is formed only when Waste Collection Knightsbridge confirms the booking in writing, which may include email or text message confirmation, or other written acknowledgment. Any booking request is subject to availability and acceptance by Waste Collection Knightsbridge.

3.3 Changes to bookings

If the Customer wishes to modify a booking, such as changing the collection date, time, or type or volume of Waste, the Customer must contact us as soon as possible. Any changes are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to adjust the price or apply additional charges where the scope of the Services has changed.

4. Customer Responsibilities on the Day of Collection

The Customer must ensure that:

The Waste is properly presented for collection at the agreed address and is accessible to our team at the agreed time.

Any necessary permissions to access the premises or communal areas are obtained in advance.

Parking or loading space is available or suitable arrangements are made to allow our vehicles and team to safely access the collection location.

Waste is clearly identified and separated from items that are not intended to be removed.

If the Customer fails to provide access or the Waste is not available for collection as agreed, Waste Collection Knightsbridge may charge a wasted journey fee or treat the booking as cancelled in accordance with the cancellation provisions below.

5. Waste Types and Regulations

5.1 Acceptable waste

Our Services are intended for general household and commercial non-hazardous waste, including mixed refuse, recyclables, garden waste, and bulky items such as furniture and certain appliances, subject to weight and volume limitations advised at the time of booking.

5.2 Prohibited and hazardous waste

We do not collect waste that is classified as hazardous or special waste under UK law, including but not limited to:

Asbestos or materials containing asbestos.

Chemicals, solvents, oils, paints, fuels, or pressurised containers.

Clinical or medical waste, including sharps.

Explosives, fireworks, or ammunition.

Gas cylinders or tanks, unless expressly agreed in writing.

Any other waste deemed hazardous or unsuitable by our team, or prohibited under applicable waste regulations.

If prohibited or hazardous items are found among the Waste presented, we may refuse to collect such items, adjust the price, or cancel the Service. The Customer may be liable for any additional costs incurred, including safe disposal costs or penalties imposed on Waste Collection Knightsbridge for misdescribed waste.

5.3 Compliance with regulations

Waste Collection Knightsbridge will handle, transport, and dispose of collected Waste in accordance with applicable UK waste management legislation and regulations. Waste will be taken to authorised facilities for disposal or recycling. The Customer agrees to co-operate with Waste Collection Knightsbridge in any necessary documentation or information required to comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

6. Pricing and Payment Terms

6.1 Pricing

Prices for the Services are normally based on the type, weight, and volume of Waste, access conditions, and any additional labour, waiting time, or specialist handling required. Indicative prices may be provided at the booking stage based on the Customer's description of the Waste. Final charges may be confirmed on site, once our team has inspected the Waste and assessed the actual scope of the work.

6.2 Payment methods

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, payment is due on or before completion of the collection. We may accept payment by cash, bank transfer, card payment, or other methods we specify. Commercial Customers may be offered account terms at our discretion, subject to credit checks and agreed payment periods.

6.3 Failure to pay

If the Customer fails to make payment when due, Waste Collection Knightsbridge reserves the right to suspend further Services, charge interest on overdue amounts at the statutory rate allowable under UK law, and recover any reasonable costs incurred in pursuing overdue sums, including collection and legal costs.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

7.1 Customer cancellations

The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving notice to Waste Collection Knightsbridge. Where cancellation is received at least 24 hours before the scheduled collection time, no cancellation fee will normally be charged.

If the Customer cancels a booking less than 24 hours before the scheduled collection time, or fails to provide access or present the Waste for collection, Waste Collection Knightsbridge may charge a cancellation or wasted journey fee to cover administrative and operational costs.

7.2 Cancellations by Waste Collection Knightsbridge

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to operational reasons, adverse weather, vehicle breakdown, staff availability, safety concerns, or any circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Where possible, we will inform the Customer as soon as practicable and offer an alternative collection date or time. We will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from such cancellation or delay.

8. Service Limitations and Access

Waste Collection Knightsbridge will take reasonable care in providing the Services, but the Customer acknowledges that:

Access to the premises and the collection point must be safe for our team and vehicles.

We may refuse to carry out the Service, or any part of it, if in our reasonable opinion it would be unsafe or unlawful to do so.

Where access is restricted, requires additional labour, or involves movement of Waste over long distances or from upper floors, additional charges may apply, subject to prior agreement where practicable.

9. Liability and Limitations

9.1 Our responsibility

Waste Collection Knightsbridge will exercise reasonable skill and care in the performance of the Services. If we fail to provide the Services with reasonable care and skill, our liability will be limited, at our option, to re-performing the Services or refunding the price paid for the affected Service.

9.2 Exclusions

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Waste Collection Knightsbridge shall not be liable for:

Any indirect, consequential, or economic loss, including loss of profit, business, or reputation.

Any loss or damage arising from inaccurate information provided by the Customer regarding the Waste or access conditions.

Any delay or failure in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including traffic conditions, weather, accidents, or industrial action.

9.3 Damage to property

Our team will take reasonable care when removing Waste from the Customer's premises. The Customer is responsible for protecting any surfaces, fixtures, or fittings that may be at risk. Waste Collection Knightsbridge shall not be liable for minor or cosmetic damage reasonably incidental to the normal performance of the Services. Any claims for damage must be notified to us in writing as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within 7 days of the relevant Service.

9.4 Limit of liability

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law. Subject to this, the total liability of Waste Collection Knightsbridge to the Customer arising out of or in connection with any single Service shall not exceed the total price paid or payable for that Service.

10. Customer Warranties

The Customer warrants that:

They are the owner of the Waste or have full authority from the owner to arrange its removal and disposal.

The Waste is accurately described to Waste Collection Knightsbridge and does not contain any prohibited, hazardous, or illegal items.

They will indemnify Waste Collection Knightsbridge against any claims, costs, or liabilities arising from breach of these warranties or from any failure to comply with applicable laws regarding the Waste.

11. Data Protection and Privacy

Waste Collection Knightsbridge may collect and process personal data such as names, contact details, addresses, and payment information for the purposes of managing bookings, providing Services, handling enquiries, and complying with legal obligations. We will handle such information in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. We will only share personal data with third parties where necessary to perform the Services, process payments, or comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

12. Complaints

If the Customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they should contact Waste Collection Knightsbridge as soon as possible, providing full details of the issue. We will investigate and seek to resolve complaints in a fair and reasonable manner. This may include rectifying the issue, offering a partial refund, or taking other appropriate action, at our discretion and subject to our obligations under UK law.

13. Variations to These Terms

Waste Collection Knightsbridge reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will take effect from the date they are published or communicated and will apply to new bookings made after that date. The Terms and Conditions in force at the time of booking will apply to that particular Service, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

14. Severability

If any provision or part of a provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision or part-provision shall be deemed deleted, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written booking confirmation or agreed variation, constitute the entire Agreement between Waste Collection Knightsbridge and the Customer in relation to the Services. The Customer acknowledges that they have not relied on any statement or representation not expressly set out in this Agreement.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, the Services, or the Agreement between Waste Collection Knightsbridge and the Customer.
